Kevin Saterfield — Executive Director
Kevin founded Utopia Therapeutics and serves as its Executive Director and the Authorized Official on the organization's National Provider Identifier. His work in Dayton's recovery community is the reason this program exists and the reason it's being built to a clinical standard rather than a minimum one.

Our partnership with Rogan Crosby
Utopia Therapeutics operates in partnership with Rogan Crosby, an Ohio behavioral health provider with state-certified programs and national accreditation. Care is delivered through those certified, accredited programs by appropriately licensed clinicians.
Most new behavioral health programs spend their first two years assembling infrastructure instead of treating people. This partnership means Utopia didn't have to — the certified programs, the supervision structure, and the clinical experience were already in place on day one. What we add is capacity, and a program designed around co-occurring care from the start.
How we intend to operate
Care delivered by appropriately licensed clinicians, within their documented scope of practice. Clinical supervision that is real rather than nominal. Documentation that would survive a survey on a random Tuesday. Those are not marketing lines — they are the conditions of getting certified and staying certified, and we would rather build to them now than retrofit later.
The credentials care is delivered under
In Ohio the letters after a clinician's name are not decoration — they define what that person may assess, diagnose and sign, and who has to supervise them. Clinical work here is carried out by appropriately licensed clinicians working inside their documented scope, with supervision by clinicians credentialed to provide it.
Independently licensed clinicians — LPCC and LISW on the mental health side, LICDC on the substance use side — can diagnose and practice independently. LPC, LSW and CDCA practice under supervision. A trailing -S or -CS means that clinician is approved to supervise others.

Why co-occurring care is the design, not an add-on
A substance use disorder alongside a mental health condition is the norm in outpatient behavioral health, not the exception — and it is where programs most often lose people. The mental health clinic refers the substance use out. The treatment center refers the depression out. The person in the middle gets handed between two waiting lists and stops going.
Building for that from the start changes concrete things: who gets hired, what the supervisor is credentialed for, how the evaluation is structured, and whether one treatment plan covers both conditions or two plans quietly compete. That is the design decision this program is organised around.
What we are honest about
Utopia Therapeutics does not provide medical detoxification, inpatient or residential treatment, emergency or crisis services, or medication-assisted treatment. We do not prescribe medication and we do not treat children or adolescents.
We would rather publish the limits than have someone arrive expecting care we do not offer. If you need something we do not provide, call us anyway — we will tell you plainly and point you toward it. In a crisis, call or text 988, or call 911.
